Happy President's Day! And welcome to My Town Monday. If you put up a post, please leave a comment, and we'll link to you.

A little George Washington trivia: This president was so hooked on ice cream that he had two ice-cream freezers in his Mount Vernon house. He was also particularly fond of Madeira wine and fresh cherries (not together. Ha!) . (Source: http://recipes.slides.kaboose.com/147-presidential-food-yeas-and-nays)

 What's Gong On?

It's the first Fourth Monday of 2012, and the Chinese New Year! Welcome to the Year of the Dragon!

So, this isn't my town, particularly, but it is a picture from Myna Bird's flickr set (which has plenty more cool images to see). This timely, lovely one was just taken at the Loyang Tau Pek Kong Temple.

So, after wishing you a year of prosperity, good luck, and good health, may we ask?  What's gong on in your town?

Oh my, but we seem to have fallen off the My-Town-Monday map! We must all be uber busy. I can keep an eye on this blog today. So, if you put up a MTM post, leave a comment below, and I'll add your link. Also, I'd like to wish you a Happy Poinsettia Day!* Today marks the anniverary of Dr. Joel Poinsett's birth in 1799. This is the guy who brought the poinsettia from Mexico to the US. So, stop and sniff a poinsettia, or buy one, or water one, or have a slice of cake!~Barrie
